The No-One-Helps Protocol
Every other system in the world assumes the other adult will play. Yours does not have to.
Why this works
If you are raising these children alone, or the person in the house with you will not move, then every handoff lesson so far was written for somebody else. That is not a failure on your part — it is a different problem, and it needs a different answer. You stop trying to redistribute and start removing: fewer things owned, a lower standard on the ones that do not matter, and the smallest version of each that still works. There is no budget in this lesson for hiring anyone, and none is assumed.
Do this
- 1Write down everything on your list that assumes another adult will take it. Cross out every one of them.
- 2Run the prompt to sort what is left into stop, shrink, and lower-the-standard.
- 3Pick the one thing you will stop doing this week. Say it out loud to whoever it affects.
Your prompt
I am raising my children without another adult helping, or the adult in the house will not take anything on. Do not tell me to ask them again, and do not suggest I pay somebody — there is no money for that. Here is everything I am carrying: [list]. Sort it into three groups: things I can stop doing altogether, things I can shrink into something much smaller, and things I can drop to a lower standard and live with. Then tell me the one thing to cut first, and the exact words I say to tell my family what is no longer happening. Be practical, and do not be gentle about it.

Today's action
Cross out everything that assumed help. Then stop exactly one thing this week.
You're done when: Your plan no longer depends on anyone else deciding to help.
